John Taylor

Education: St. Olaf College (BA Economics, 2001); University of South Dakota (Juris Doctorate, 2006). Admitted to the South Dakota Bar in 2006. Captain, US Army 2006-2014.

John served as a US Army Aviation Officer and CH-47 Chinook helicopter pilot from 2006 to 2014, having been stationed in Alabama, Alaska and Kansas. John is a veteran of the Global War on Terrorism, and has completed two overseas combat deployments (Pakistan, 2010; Afghanistan, 2013-14). His service decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal and the Bronze Star.

John left active service in 2014 to join his father William in private practice in Sioux Falls. John’s practice areas include general business law, real estate law, criminal law, veterans benefit advisement, UCMJ matters and aviation law.

John is licensed by the FAA as a flight instructor and commercial fixed wing and helicopter pilot, he has over 1,700 hours of flight time. In his free time John enjoys spending time with his wife and two daughters, and home remodeling.
